Note: attendees will have preferably already attended the first two workshops of the series (Introducing Local Leaders to the Upward Mobility Framework & the Mobility Metrics Workshop).

this is not wage income there IS part wage but 99.9% is cap gains. The standard structure is 2% to the form off the top 20% of ownership in the asset whatever that may be sooo any income above 2% has to be gains not only that but the 2% is how the business it’s self is actually run so the manager isn’t paid by that but is owed a portion of the returns do to them having a part of the investment so it will all end up being cap gains taxed

I am the first person to write a comment on "Elevating the Housing Finance Debate" 4 years after this You Tube video was loaded onto the internet. I am writing this note from Manchester in the UK. The sub Prime mortgage crises of 2008 was a disgraceful episode of Corporate Greed. Offering six month to one year teaser rates to unsophisticated aspiring homeowners, in the knowledge that the new mortgagees could not possibly afford the mortgage after one year when the teaser rate ended. Unbelievable. The Table Mountain Housing Finance Model is designed for formal finance for a population wit an IRREGULAR income, such as is found in the Third World. It is available online. There is some High School standard maths. It does away with continuous compounding interest. Instead, Integral borrowings in early and late adult life is offset by interest free savings in mid life.

The real difference between this and ordinary salary income is that you get paid in what are essentially virtual shares of the growth of the capital you are managing. If they change the nature of this in the tax code, all that will really happen is that the compensation agreement will be changed so that the fund manager gets a small salary plus "options" to buy shares of the fund at a set price depending upon the funds growth. It will essentially move from "virtual shares" which are now taxed as capital gains, to options on actual shares that are definitely capital gains when they are sold.

I have never worked with carried interest and never learned about it so, with all the talk in the news, I thought, ok, I'm a professional accountant, I should be able to understand this. Nope. After watching this video...Yup. I understand it. Great explanation.

If the Liberal's horrid plan gets Scomo across the line then I will give up on Australians and no longer see myself as one. All the housing policies off the last 30 years have been scrutinised by expert economists as failures and the primary combined reason for why housing is now so expensive. So what does Morrison do to try and cross the line? He comes up with the very worst plan the Liberals could in an attempt to bribe voters. 95% of economists say this will lead to even higher prices and do substantial, if not crippling harm to people's superannuation. Australia has had a plethora of political leaders who are willing to sacrifice the economic and living costs of Australians to do anything to get power. This is why we are at the point we are currently having to deal with. Remember the national debt? Why is that never discussed any more? The most tragic thing about this manipulative policy announcement is that this will benefit the rich although Scomo and co. pretend it is for the young and first home buyers.' What is even more tragic is that the masses seem to fall for these incentive tricks. They don't trust pollies yet they still vote on hip pocket promises and fail to inform themselves to discover what truths lie behind the words and pork barrelling. Months back Crickey did a list of 50 lies or misleading statements made by Scomo. These were backed by solid and proven evidence. How many lies has he made since? Did people see his expression when asked whether he had seen any corruption whilst P.M.? In past elections everybody has tried to avoid calling any pollies liars in case of libel. However this time there is so much prove to prove Scott Morrison lies. He lies regularly, he lies on the big issues and he would be aware of many cases of corruption because he has been involved or at least had knowledge of such cases. This include with Hillsong leaders and funding, dodgy doings with Dutton, sports rorts, and the list goes on and on and on. It's time too that people stop being fooled by the now ten year cliche that the Liberals are always the best mangers of the economy. That is not true! Low wage growth, housing prices, inflation costs, age care system failures, growing national debt, Australia's standing as a corrupt country has soared, and Dutton is out there scaring the public with his usual bottom of the barrel tactics. The Government is at the very least mostly responsible for these situations we find ourselves in. The rich have got richer and the poor has got poorer. Unless we want to end up like the overtly capitalist greed of the U.S. then we need to get Scomo out of Government. If he gets three more years then I feel it will be too late. The ability to repair the damage will be near impossible. I beg people please look into this man. Research his history and you will uncover a personality that is indeed inline with those criticisms made by so many, including Liberal politicians. Ask yourself why he doesn't want to establish an Integrity Commission with genuine powers. There is only one answer and we all know why? What we already know about this man is terrifying. What we don't know (which is a line Scomo loves to use against Albo who has been in Parliament for approx. 26 years) could possibly be shocking. If the masses fall again for a Liberal con artist than God help us because we'll need divine intervention. Speaking of which if Scomo loses the election will he state that the Almighty wanted it that way as he has claimed that God wanted him to win the previous election. This man is arrogance on legs. Vote him in and the bulldozer with his far right wing nutters will destroy our nation that will require decades to resolve.

What a joke. Carried interest is partially “salary?” Since when do workers wait 8-12 years to get their “salary” and if they don’t perform, the employer doesn’t pay them their “salary.” We also know it isn’t a “bonus” either because earning a bonus doesn’t require an employee take on entrepreneurial risk. So, if the partnership has debts in excess of assets, will the employee who could have but didn’t earn a bonus come out of pocket to satisfy the debts of the partnership? I think not.
